A scientist says he’s found Atlantis. While this has been claimed many times before, Dr. Rainer Kuehne used satellite photos to spot a part of southern Spain with features that match the descriptions of Greek scholar Plato. This would mean Atlantis wasn’t an island at all, but was an area of the Spanish coast that was destroyed by a flood between 800 BC and 500 BC.

NOAA scientists are delighted that their institution, in the person of scientist Jack Hall (played by Dennis Quaid), is the star of the major motion picture The Day After Tomorrow. But they administration doesn’t like the film’s portrayal of Vice-President Dick Cheney, who denies that global warming is on the way. NOAA planned to put up a website about abrupt climate change to coincide with the release of the film, but the project was nixed by the government.

Along with appearing on a major TV talk show, I guess attending a movie premiere is one of those events that people daydream about. I’ve attended a couple in the past, but this one was the best yet. We met up with Art and Ramona Bell in New York. Since they lead a nocturnal life, due to Art’s late night talk show, they said "Hi" and went right to bed.
