Archeologists assumed that the legend of the Queen of Sheba, who ruled what is now Ethiopia and Yemen 3,000 years ago, was simply a Biblical legend–until now. She purportedly brought the then-ruler of Jerusalem–King Solomon–a vast quantity of gold from her private mine, but nobody has was able to locate the treasure or the mine. But now the goldmine may have been found: An enormous mine has been located in the territory that was once the Kingdom of Sheba, along with the ruins of a temple and a battlefield (implying that battles were fought over the gold). Locals still pan for gold in the nearby river, but were unaware of the ancient mine.

NASA reports that a recent lull in the sun’s activity did not prevent the Earth from absorbing more solar energy than could escape back into space. This means that climate change is mainly caused by human activity–not the sun, as some people would like to think.

This imbalance (more energy coming in than leaving) is what drives global warming, and because it occurred during a period when the sun was emitting comparatively low levels of energy, it means we have to clean up our act and curb greenhouse gases. read more

We continue to get reports of strange sounds in daily, and they continue to be posted on YouTube. The flood of hoaxes has died away as well, at least for the time being. Children have short attention spans, one would suppose. The report linked her to Linda Moulton Howe’s Earthfiles.com discusses the possibility that the sounds might be generated by solar activity, but this does not appear to solar scientists to be a plausible explanation.
