A 12-year-old girl has taken a picture of what appears to be the infamous Loch Ness Monster. On holiday with her parents at the Scottish loch, Charlotte Robinson spotted something popping up out of the water about fifty feet away, and managed to capture a photograph of the creature when it resurfaced for a second look.
Charlotte describes her August 17 encounter: "There was something in the water about 50 feet from the shore. I took a photo. It had a neck and head was in the shape of a hook. I just took what I saw. It was black – I just don’t know how far it was out of the water. I’m not good at judging distances. But after about a minute it disappeared and then came back up again in a different place."
"It was up for less than a minute the second time. I kind of believed in Nessie, but I wanted to see the proof. I always imagined her as having a long neck and flippers. I have seen something but I’m not sure what."
"I am totally excited by this photograph – it is the best of ‘Nessie’ in years," exclaims Nessie expert Steve Feltham, who was astonished by the image of what appears to be a creature’s head poking out of the loch. "There is clearly a solid object in it and it is relatively clear. It warrants further study.
"There may be a mundane explanation such as a seal, but I have not heard of a seal in the loch this year, Feltham continues. "For my money it is larger than a seal or an otter. It is a fantastic picture by Charlotte."
In May of this year, a video was taken by an eight-year-old girl of a disturbance on the surface of Loch Ness. Although neither Laria Annand nor her grandmother, Marie, saw what was making the disturbance, they also saw no boats or other people in the vicinity, so they assumed that the motion was being generated under the water.
"I just looked up and that’s when I spotted the flickering in the water," according to Marie. "It looked as though the light was bouncing off something but there were no boats or people and it was something long – very long. I had to do a double take because there was just nothing to explain it. I took a few pictures and then my granddaughter asked if she could take a picture. I didn’t realise at the time but that’s when she shot the video. It was weird. Really strange. I can’t explain it so the only thing I can think is we have seen the Loch Ness Monster."
