Legendary author and scientist Dr. Dean Radin, chief scientist at the Institute for Noetic Sciences, goes deep into the relationship between us and the universe around us. Why do our visitors have extraordinary powers like levitation and telepathy and we don’t. Or do we? Dean explains the amazing fact that most of us do, but we ignore them. He also explains how the few who don’t have them lost them, and how they have infected the rest of us with disbelief in our own.

  1. If you have not read all of Dean’s books, then I highly recommend you become aware of the controlled science behind Psi. You can start with Real Magic (it contains some summarized findings) or go back to his earlier books.

    1. I’ve just used a credit on Audible to finally get around to reading it (- well strictly-speaking ‘listening’). There are quite a few of his books that look really interesting.

    1. Indeed. If anyone is interested, here is a documentary on YT about him (where you can hear his name pronounced correctly)…apparently the Dunglas bit is pronounced like ‘Dun-glass’, rather than the ‘glas’ sound at the end of the name Douglas.

  2. A question on the genetics of people with psychic powers: could Dean tell us where in the genome the differences occur?

Also, as another question, or quibble, Dean said these 2 things:
    1) the persons without psychic powers are the mutants, while “regular folks” have these powers.
    2) There are few persons with psychic powers in the former Holy roman empire because they where slaughtered during the witch hunt era.
That looks contradictory to me, because for 1) and 2) to be simultaneously true they would have to slaughter a majority of the population of the Holy roman empire. This surely did not happen.

    1. Extract from the published report that I think Dean was referring to…

“…However, a difference was observed in the intron
(i.e., non-protein-coding region) adjacent to an exon in the TNRC18 gene (Trinucleotide Repeat-
Containing Gene 18 Protein) on chromosome 7. This variation, an alteration of GG to GA, was
found in 7 of 9 controls and was absent from all psychic cases…”.

See my reply to Cosmic’s post (below), for the name of the report and its associated link.

  3. Whitley, did Radin send you the link to the study mentioned about people that had lost psychic abilities? I would really like to read it too. I wonder if when it comes experiencers, there are not also connections.
Years ago, I remember discussions surrounding many experiencers having Celtic backgrounds in their ancestry, primarily from the British Isles (Scotland, Ireland, Wales). Of course, parts of the British Isles were conquered by Rome, but they did not become part of the Holy Roman Empire.

This was fascinating, but Radin has always been a great interview. I recommend his books. ‘Real Magic’ is very good, but ‘The Conscious Universe’ is the place to start. I got my copy way back in 2009. I also think many would learn a lot from these two sites, both of which I think were mentioned:
    The Global Consciousness Project
    https://noosphere.princeton.edu/
    IONS
    https://noetic.org/science/participate-research/

      1. Thanks, Sherbet! I’ve downloaded and will spend time later scrutinizing it.

      2. Thanks! Since the link Whitley kindly posted unfortunately doesn’t work, good to have this alternate location. Does one have to be a Noetic Site member for the link to work?

  4. Early in the interview, Dr. Radin says that any meditation path can lead to siddhis. But the siddhis come from a Vedic tradition. So what do the Vedas say? “In this Kali Yuga, japa of Sanskrit mantra is the quickest way to freedom.”

    1. Are you suggesting that siddhis can only be truely experienced if a traditional Vedic meditation practise is followed?

      1. No. The example of the flying Catholic priest demonstrates that siddhi powers are not confined to the Vedic path. My point is that according to the Vedas, a spiritual practice centered around mantra can give the quickest results for the average person.

This is, of course, only to the best of my understanding.

        1. Ah, thanks for clarifying that. I found this really interesting YT video, where the same thing was suggested…

How can I achieve SIDDHIS or Yogic Superpowers? A Master Class with Ragada Choudhury…
          https://youtu.be/Acn8Fe7yPwc

          1. Nice YT video. But please know that mantra can be dangerous if not taken seriously. However these days most people don’t push enough in any single spiritual direction to achieve much anyway.

  5. Author

I could not agree more. We graze in the field of the numinous rather than really working there. You have to choose something and stay with it.

  6. This is a bit different, even more fascinating older study.

A Comparison of UFO and Near-Death
    Experiences As Vehicles For The
    Evolution Of Human Consciousness

The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that the unidentified flying object experience (UFOE), like the near-death experience(NDE), provides an impetus toward spiritual growth in terms of (a) increased positive attitudes and decreased negative attitudes toward self, others, and life in general; (b) increased belief in broader, more universal “spiritual truths” rather than narrower, denominationally oriented religious doctrines; and (c) increased psychic sensitivities.

  7. Joseph of Copertino was depicted in the 1967 Sophia Loren film “More Than A Miracle.”
It has a typical peasant girl meet prince plot. There is a scene in which Joesph of Copertino is levitating and helping Sophia Loren.
