First hurricane of the season–very early.

So far, this Pacific hurricane is not very large, but it’s a full fledged hurricane. There has been a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico that has been trying to form into a storm but seems to be dissipating. Still, it’s way early for so much activity. Best outcome: one or the other of these formations crosses the parched American southwest, soaking it–but never becomes so fierce that it does damage.
