We may not be able to travel into the future, but a new idea for a time machine may allow future generations to travel to the past. If this has already been invented, perhaps UFO encounters are examples of these travelers visiting US?THEIR past.

This time machine is based on bending space-time until it forms a loop. In LiveScience.com, Charles Q. Choi quotes Israeli physicist Amos Ori as saying, “We know that bending does happen all the time, but we want the bending to be strong enough and to take a special form where the lines of time make closed loops. We are trying to find out if it is possible to manipulate space-time to develop in such a way.” He mentions one small problem: “It can’t be used to travel to a time before the time machine was constructed.”

…and this time, it’s not petfood from China! On Dreamland, Linda Howe often reports on mysterious cat mutilations across the US. Now something else is killing our cats?a mysterious epidemic of thyroid disease. Researchers may have finally found the cause: exposure to dust from flame retardants in household carpeting, furniture, fabrics and pet food.

Veterinarian Janice A. Dye has evidence linking the disease to exposure to environmental contaminants called PBDEs, which she found to be elevated in blood samples of hyperthyroid cats. Her findings were based on analysis of blood samples from 23 pet cats, 11 of which had the disease, termed feline hyperthyroidism (FH). PBDE levels in the hyperthyroid cats were three times as high as those in younger, non-hyperthyroid cats.read more

Could extraterrestrial life be made of corkscrew-shaped particles of interstellar dust? Astronomers have discovered intriguing new evidence of life-like structures that form from inorganic substances in space that could be the basis of ANOTHER life form.

An international team of astronomers thinks that extraterrestrial life forms may exist inside particles of interstellar dust. If life exists there, it would be a different FORM of life from the kind found on earth, which is all carbon-based. Under the right conditions, particles of inorganic dust can become organized into structures that can then interact with each other in ways that only the organic compounds we are familiar with usually do.
