Osama bin Laden?s detailed plans for nuclear devices and other terrorist bombs were found in one of its Kabul headquarters. The partly burned documents were left in a hastily abandoned safe house. Written in Arabic, German, Urdu and English, the notes give detailed designs for missiles, bombs and nuclear weapons. They include descriptions of how the detonation of TNT compresses plutonium into a critical mass, sparking a chain reaction, and ultimately a thermonuclear reaction.

Nuclear experts say the design suggests that bin Laden may be working on a fission device, similar to Fat Man, the bomb dropped on Nagasaki. However, they emphasize that it is extremely difficult to build.

Ali A. Mohamed, a former U.S. Army sergeant who is now in prison, secretly worked for Osama bin Laden?s Al Qaeda network. From 1987 to 1989, he was stationed at Fort Bragg, where he obtained sensitive, top secret documents showing plans of special operations units that are operating in Afghanistan today. The documents described how the units work, and one of them contained detailed plans for a special operations training exercise in Pakistan.

Four months after refusing to take in migrants from the tiny, sinking Pacific nation of Tuvalu, Australia has asked Tuvalu to take in Middle East emigrants seeking asylum. Australia has turned away about 1,500 asylum seekers since August, sending many to small Pacific nations.

With a total land area of approximately 10 square miles and a population of 11,000 people, Tuvalu is one-tenth the size of Washington D.C., and is spread over nine atolls.

A small group of people manage to make money at a little-known job: meteorite hunting. They use metal detectors to comb the Southwest in search of bits of meteorite that are more valuable than gold.

?Without a doubt, I have the best job in the galaxy,? says Bob Haag. ?But you don?t have to be a rocket scientist. You do a little research, find where meteorites have fallen, and just go there and look. That?s it. There?s no magic.? He must be doing well, since he wears a meteorite-encrusted wedding ring.
