On August 4 rescuers desperately freeing Katie Lenz from her mangled car at an accident site in Missouri were astonished when a priest who had come to offer comfort suddenly seemed to disappear. Now a priest whose face closely matches that of that of an artists’ impression of the mystery man has come forward and identified himself as the priest who stopped to reassure the rescuers and give comfort to the woman trapped in the damaged car. According to a press release from the Diocese of Jefferson City, he is Father Patrick Dowling, a Diocesan Priest.

Once again, birds are mysteriously dropping out of the sky dead, and, as always, the media treats it as if this continuing mystery is happening for the first time. This time, the mystery is unfolding in Winnepeg, Manitoba in Canada. Roughly 40 dread grackles were collected last Wednesday and given to the province’s chief veterinarian. 20 more were found on the roof of a building, most dead and others in death throes. An initial examination of the birds’ stomach contents did not reveal anything abnormal, and further toxicology tests are being undertaken at this time.

Two US email services offering private encrypted email have closed down and destroyed their servers rather than reveal their customers’ data to the National Security Agency. Texas based Lavabit and Maryland company Silent Circle have both closed down their encrypted email services. Lavabit was used by Edward Snowden, and it’s owner Ladar Levinson has suggested that he received a secret demand from the NSA to hand over his customers’ data. Silent Circle has said that it has received no demand, but it closed down in order to protect its clients’ privacy. Both companies provided secure email to governments, famous figures and others in need of secure email.

The Turkish Prime Ministry Inspection Board is suggesting in a report that three engineers working on a sensitive air force automatic foe recognition system may have been killed using telekinesis to induce them to commit suicide. The report was prepared for the Ankara Public Prosecutor as part of the ongoing investigation of the 2006-2007 suicides. It claims that the victims could have been induced to commit suicide by some psychic means such as telekinesis, citing the findings of a neuropsychology expert.
