The massive profits Wall Street has made selling worthless securities have been privatized, but the risk has been socialized. To make matters worse, nobody understands that we have had to do this to save our personal lives, especially not the talk radio hosts that fifty million Americans listen to every day.

To hear them talk, the bailout was a terrible mistake, but they never say what would have happened without it. Instead, they spout rigid ideology that is totally indifferent to our welfare–that is to say, to the lives of their own listeners.

Not since the summer of 1989 have I seen such a massive upwelling of dire prophecy in the world. At Unknowncountry.com, we are getting emails every day from people who are having dreams or visions of terrible events in the immediate future.

The Arlington Institute, a respected futurist think tank, has just published a document noting that it is receiving many such prophecies, also.

Most of these dreams and visions involve earthquakes, nuclear terrorism or huge storms. (Hopefully, not all of the above.)

A number of channelers are predicting that a large scale event involving aliens will take place this month.

As of yesterday, the U.S. commercial paper market has failed. You won’t read or hear much about this, because so few people understand financial markets, but you will see its effects in your life, and they are going to be dramatic, and probably come at you like a runaway train.

Commercial paper is the means by which companies raise working capital to produce the goods and services you use every day. Last week, $95 billion less commercial paper was sold. Instead, the money went into US Treasuries. In the past three weeks, the commercial paper market has contracted by $200 billion. Bond experts are calling the contraction “astounding,” and it is not clear that the bailout will help recharge this crucially important market.

There are rumors floating around the beltway that the credit crisis was intentionally triggered by gigantic short sales that were orchestrated in London and Dubai, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared “that ‘the American empire’ is nearing collapse and should end its military involvement in other countries.”

At the same time, as reported in the Unknowncountry.com Newsletter and on Unknowncountry.com, the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team will be deployed to the US mainland beginning on October 1 for 12 months. The brigade will have the most advanced nonlethal weapons in the army’s arsenal. It is trained in crowd control and how to deal with massive terror assaults, such as nuclear attacks.
