Greg Eghigian is a NASA consultant and a professor at Pennsylvania State University, but those credentials DO NOT mean that he’s a UFO and close encounter skeptic. Times have changed and this credentialed historian takes a rational and open-minded look at the incredible body of human experience that centers on the UFO phenomenon. Listen as he uses his academic skills to go deep into the true meaning of the phenomenon, and our Whitley sure can keep up with him. Great interview! Totally fascinating!!

  1. I got the book and read it a few months ago, and I’m so glad that Eghigian was on Dreamland. I had hoped that Whitley would interview him. It worked out well, and it was all I thought it would be! I would love to see a roundtable discussion with Whitley, Eghigian, and Jacques Vallee.

Make it so! (Preferably before December.)

  2. One aspect of “UFO culture” that was not touched upon during this show is: UFO and religion. I guess the main expert on this stuff is Diana Walsh Pasulka, and she’s been on Dreamland before. But I don’t remember her talking much about the organized UFO religions such as for instance The Allies of Humanity. It could be nice to have a dreamland on this topic!

That’s a very interesting idea. I have not covered this enough. I certainly shall do so.

    1. Not just religions, but other groups such as Farsight, that make some astounding claims via their ‘remote viewing’ activities. I’ve never been a member, but I’ve followed them off and on for years, just to find out what they are ‘seeing’. (Of course, much of it cannot be proven, but I am tracking their most recent ‘remote views’ that should be very easy to track, since they cover the next 6 months.) Other pop culture ‘UFO’ topics like ‘Ancient Aliens’ and ‘UFO Cowboys’ are in the mix too and are ‘influencers’.

      1. From what I’ve just seen on YT it looks more like channeling, rather than remote viewing.

To see a crisis of events occuring simultaneously in Israel / Lebanon…in Ukraine…and in the US after the election, is not exactly what I would call farsighted.

But I guess we will see in three or four months time whether the “good aliens” efforts engineering this nexus point will culminate in Disclosure, the collapse of secrecy and a resetting of society…or they loose. Sounds like the stakes are high.

To be perfectly honest, it sounds like manufactured drama to me…the same old stuff…and of course, an increase in Farsight Prime subscribers in the meantime probably wouldn’t go amiss.

        1. Interestingly, on a related topic, I’ve just now started watching Alex Garland’s ‘Civil War’ …hopefully there was no prescience involved in the writing.

        2. I know! Anyone with half a brain would realize that the world is a mess right now. Which doesn’t speak well for a lot of people. We don’t need manufactured drama, but there is still so much of it, and we need to be aware of the zeitgeist of this time, if for no other reason than to be voices of reason for friends, family, and neighbors; to speak intelligently without talking down to people, and to use kindness, and what understanding we can muster to make the best of it for everyone. THAT is our challenge.

          1. You know, the real stress is realisation.

I don’t like it any more than the next person. I’m basically a lazy, well off, happy, Celt. No kids, no worries, no debt, no pressures that keep me awake at ni… oh, wait, I can’t say that.. someone does keep me on my toes in the dead of night..fair enough. No, it isn’t my bladder.

Look, I’m free. Yet, I’m not. It’s almost as if ‘they’ choose the freer minded or those with freer imagination or ability to visualise and then take them out of the humdrum Human race and offer us a different tomorrow.

Who are they? No they.. just the One. We, I, Us, Them.

            Next question please?

            Peace.

          2. Agreed. I saw the guy interviewed awhile back and was not impressed. It was meant to be a cautionary tale but it’s more like a dress rehearsal for many I fear. So much energy goes into imagining horror. It’s much more entertaining than peace.

If disclosure ever actually occurs all these people will go broke who make a business out of selling the idea that “it’s going to happen soon so keep watching.” Yeah right, keep those clicks coming. My attitude towards them: get a life–other than the one you’re living.

    1. Fair comment Mr Strieber.

I trust your UK trip went well?

Please forgive my curiosity but did you get to visit Glastonbury? Any sign of the little man by the well at Chalice Well gardens?

      1. Agreed. I saw the guy interviewed awhile back and was not impressed. It was meant to be a cautionary tale but it’s more like a dress rehearsal for many I fear. So much energy goes into imagining horror.

  5. Honestly, I could not even finish this. I have worked as an academic for the past 17 years and just have no stomach for it. Academia is so intertwined with Enlightenment methodology thinking and corporate money and politics that to me, it functions like malware in the species. Cultural appropriation and outright thievery and misogyny are deeply embedded into its own history. It has collided with the power dynamics of the culture in a very toxic way to brainwash and gaslight about real history extensively. It is only courageous out of the box thinkers like Dr. Vallee who is of course, not American, who I respect. I Tried to give him a chance and heard a lot of words here but nothing of any value.
