Diana Walsh Pasulka’s explosive and historic book American Cosmic changed the world of UAP/UFO research forever. Now her new book Encounters is set to do the same by elevating the UAP and contact mystery to a new level of understanding.
In this searching interview, Whitley and Diana, colleagues and friends, explore the depths of the book, discussing such topics as the nature of evil and how religion and contact are going to meet, and, above all, what is about to happen to mankind.
You will not have another opportunity to hear a discussion like this between two such deeply knowledgeable people, both working at the cutting edge of UAP research.
Diana will be with us in the subscriber video chat room on December 9. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to engage with her and ask her YOUR questions! Only on Unknowncountry! To join the chat, log in to your subscriber account, and click here.

Dr. Joseph P. Farrell mentions her and “Encounters” in interviews about his newest book “The Demon in the Ekur”. It follows “The Giza Death Star Revisited”, his summary, revision, and update of his original Giza Death Star trilogy. Robert Temple has a great new book, “The Science of Heaven” which covers amongst several related topics, the plasma life hypothesis as well as biophotonic and bioenergetics phenomena.
I hope to have both authors of Dreamland. It has been too long since we had them with us.
After reading ‘American Cosmic’ just after it came out, I was really looking forward to this interview…but although I find the subject matter fascinating, I have to admit, the overall tone of this one left me feeling quite unsettled.
Having being brought up like many, seeing those metophorical shadows on the wall, how on Earth are we expected to afford ourselves with the necessasy level of protection / knowledge, to navigate our way past the fire, between the Puppet-masters, out of the cave and into the real sunlight? There was talk of religious protocols, the sensing excercise, and ensuring one has a strong / good soul…but what of those homeless people? What about their physical predicament meant they were vulnerable in regard to the security of their very soul? Is there something they could have done to protect themselves? Was it perhaps just the inebriated ones that were vulnerable to a metaphical attack?
That leads me back to the mention of Gnostic practises again…or the immersion within a Catholic religious framework, that some feel gives them the tools required to stand steadfast (in the particular river they feel themselves caught up in).
Can we be more specific about which of those practises are seen as important in the strengthening of the soul?
I guess I will soon find out whether this is discussed in Encounters…however, I would much rather start reading it out of a genuine sense of curiosity, rather than in a knee jerk effort to calm my mind after listening to this disquieting exchange.
I agree, what is really to help us wake up to the greater reality (or at least a few levels up from our conditioning) and what is a false sense of feel good comfort.
It seems the myth of the battle between good and evil is programmed into people continually by the media. There is no cold and hot as our language tricks us into, there is only heat energy and it is either sufficient for out biology or to low or to high. Likewise, perhaps there is only love energy and when it is low we misidentify beings as evil.
The statement that moral integrity is critical for humanity to proceed is likewise thwarted with the misunderstanding of morals as definable conduct, when each situation must be addressed from the point of view of love.
Humanity is racing toward instability and unsustainability in so many ways, one would expect the gifts of lessons to be drastic and seem harsh. While I sense that many people are progressing into more loving beings, with deeper empathy, many are also living in the desperation of hellish conditions and world views of good and evil and who can get ahead while not knowing only inner peace is getting ahead.
As Whitley so clearly described: let us all ‘pray’ for those parts of humanity (which is all of us) who do not realize we are lost. Let us work together to understand. I believe Diana’s talk was a step in the right direction by admitting that we need to re-accept traditional ways of dealing with the presence, but I would add we need to avoid adding old cultural illusions of shadows on the walls to our own set of shadows. Religious institutions are not spiritual, they are economically driven oligarchies. We need a new vision.
I agree, and the only place we are going find this new vision is in the minds and hearts of the human community. It must be grounded in a much deeper understanding of exactly what causes the strange experience we in the modern world now call close encounter.
Here’s the perspective on Evil in the Bahá’í Faith (a new Abrahamic religion founded in 1844 CE).: “On Good and Evil” – “TO EXPLAIN THE truth of this matter is difficult indeed. Know that created things are of two kinds: material and spiritual, sensible and intelligible. That is, some are perceptible to the senses, while others are only perceived by the mind.
“Sensible realities are those which are perceived by the five outer senses: So, for example, those outward things which the eye sees are called sensible. Intelligible realities are those which have no outward existence but are perceived by the mind. For example, the mind itself is an intelligible reality and has no outward existence. Likewise, all human virtues and attributes have an intelligible rather than a sensible existence; that is, they are realities that are perceived by the mind and not by the senses.
“Briefly, intelligible realities such as the praiseworthy attributes and perfections of man are purely good and have a positive existence. Evil is simply their non-existence. So ignorance is the want of knowledge, error is the want of guidance, forgetfulness is the want of remembrance, foolishness is the want of understanding: All these are nothing in themselves and have no positive existence.
“As for sensible realities, these are also purely good, and evil is merely their non-existence; that is, blindness is the want of sight, deafness is the want of hearing, poverty is the want of wealth, illness is the want of health, death is the want of life, and weakness is the want of strength.
“Now, a doubt comes to mind: Scorpions and snakes are poisonous — is this good or evil, for they have a positive existence? Yes, it is true that scorpions and snakes are evil, but only in relation to us and not to themselves, for their venom is their weapon and their sting their means of defence. But as the constituent elements of their venom are incompatible with those of our bodies — that is, as these constituent elements are mutually opposed — the venom is evil, or rather, those elements are evil in relation to each other, while in their own reality they are both good.
“To summarize, one thing may be evil in relation to another but not evil within the limits of its own being. It follows therefore that there is no evil in existence: Whatsoever [the Creator, the Unknowable Essence] has created, He has created good. Evil consists merely in non-existence. For example, death is the absence of life: When man is no longer sustained by the power of life, he dies. Darkness is the absence of light: When light is no more, darkness reigns. Light is a positively existing thing, but darkness has no positive existence; it is merely its absence. Likewise, wealth is a positively existing thing but poverty is merely its absence.
“It is thus evident that all evil is mere non-existence. Good has a positive existence; evil is merely its absence.” “…Deal ye with strangers the same as with friends, cherish ye others just as ye would your own. See foes as friends; see demons as angels; give to the tyrant the same great love ye show the loyal and true, and even as gazelles from the scented cities of Khatá and Khutan offer up sweet musk to the ravening wolf…The very demons will change to angels then, and wolves to shepherds of the flock…” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, “Some Answered Questions” & “Selections from the Writings of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá” https://oceanlibrary.com/link/FxYnX/some-answered-questions_abdul-baha/ ).
And from his Father: “This nether world is the abode of demons: Guard yourselves from approaching them. By demons is meant those wayward souls who, with the burden of their evil deeds, slumber in the chambers of oblivion” (Bahá’u’lláh, “Tabernacle of Unity”
https://oceanlibrary.com/link/er5xS/tabernacle-of-unity_bahaullah/ ). On the other hand the Báb, had a more traditional view, that: “At death the angels will take the souls of believers to Paradise and the demons will take the souls of unbelievers to the Fire” (Báb, “A Thematic Analysis and Summary of the Persian Bayán”).
What is disquieting about the exchange is that there is a sense of danger but no clear solution is at hand. That’s the true situation, though. We just don’t know for sure how to think about this. But we are at last beginning to make a serious effort to do so, and the presence of skilled academicians such as Diana Pasulka in the public dialogue is an important step forward.
I’m half way through Encounters now…there is so much food for thought.
I want to first make it very clear that Whitley and his work have meant so much to me for so long, and this channel is something I deeply appreciate. That being said, and this applies to the entire ufology and New Age community, not simply to this forum – but when will the conversation around so-called aliens and UFOs start to branch out of its comfortable boundaries of conceptions and actually entertain possibilities that are NOT material and extraterrestrial and Galactic Federation, etc. etc.? While discussions are increasing, the approaches are not, and it never seems to leave the traditional vocabulary and framing that are, at this point, preventing progression.
So what would I recommend? We need to re-incorporate back into all of this conversation the esoteric laws and truths that every civilization knew and taught and practiced but were thrown out and forgotten with the industrial revolution and the mid 20th century fantasies pushed by people like L. Ron Hubbard in collusion with Jack Parsons and Aleister Crowley (who did possess knowledge of esotericism but steered it in dark, distorted directions), as well as – lest we forget! – the Nazis, who pushed the intergalactic ancient alien narrative that has poisoned ufology and the New Age, propagated by Sitchin and Von Danniken (whose book Chariots of the Gods was ghostwritten and edited by a Nazi). Stop with the fantasies and return to a fundamental understanding of the esoteric structure of our solar system school, a closed system of HUMAN evolution and ascension, in a multi-dimensional reality with the spiritual hierarchies, otherwise known as angels and only recently called “aliens.” The glaring shortcomings in the current discussions will be clarified with the rediscovery of these eternal occult rules and teachings. Anthroposophy, Theosophy, the Eastern traditions, and so many other systems all offer this enlightenment. As long as we remain in this myopic materialist literalist mindset, the subject will remain anomalous and murky and dangerously distorted. And the Nazis were counting on that. If we keep believing otherworldly aliens made us and have more knowledge than we do, then humans subjugating others and themselves will continue, and we will just keep looking up at the stars in ignorant delusion and isolation. Let’s wake up.
As I see it there are many facets which we confuse. It is easy to lump everything together as a singularity: ET, Galactic AI, the Dead, non-physical sentience / beings (both ‘angelic’/spiritual and parasitic inorganic beings). There are many races of physical ET (and many witnesses have very physical interactions as well as craft on radar, etc.), but that does not preclude that as advanced species they may live more in the psychic/mystical/shamanic realms than the physical. The Dead probably includes not just human, but of all living beings, some who have transcended. Shamans state there are eight classes of parasitic inorganic sentient beings, many of which can be manipulated for power. Hierarchies of angels also exist in many traditions.
—
Until we get away from any singular ‘answers’ and start to separate NHI, we will continually confuse contradicting data. I cannot say all the above categories are ‘real’ in the sense that the word symbols bring forth images in our minds, but I can say that physical beings all have a deeply psychic, mystical, spiritual dimension which transcends the description of physical philosophical materialism. The casting of ET as other beings deluded by philosophical materialism is an illusion.
—
We humans are currently conditioned and indoctrinated into philosophical materialism and very few break out and do such practices as meditation to experience the greater truth of our beings, thus the great failing of morality in our culture which is leading to our demise. Physicality is a few percent balanced between dark matter (the realm of the dead and the astral creative spirit?) and bright energy (realm of the angels and spiritual transcendent sentient beings, consciousness?). We are trinary beings (and so are ET but some of them live it, but perhaps others are lost like us).
This is the core of Jeff Kripal‘s work, and the central theme of our book Super Natural. But I agree with you that the concentration on this, as a physical reality is increasing as the disclosure process slowly unfolds. In the book I am working on now I am going to make an argument that the entire physical manifestation of this could be in its essence of deception. I am not saying that this is the case but that this direction must be explored. We must not settle on any assumptions. I’ll have Jeff back on again soon and we can discuss the whole business from his perspective.
Great to know! Thank you, Whitley, and I look forward to your new book and upcoming conversations. I HIGHLY recommend the intuitive mystic who changed my life and opened my eyes, Gigi Young, who has a presence on YouTube and a website with amazing Q&As and discussions. She is a disciple so to speak of Rudolf Steiner and Anthroposophy, which align with her own personal mystical experiences. I am telling you, there is no one more compelling and taking this to new heights than Gigi Young. You would have a remarkable – and extremely important – entry with her on Dreamland.
Thank you for recommending her . You are so right.🧚💫
Great interview as always. However, I thought I heard Mr. Strieber nention that Ann had an alien impregnation? I had always read that she had not had any encounters.
She had no memory of it, but had a miscarriage that came out of nowhere. It was extremely strange and traumatic for us both–especially for her. She felt sure that it was related, but could not remember an event. She did not want to be hypnotized about it or to speak about it. I have alluded to it a few times since her passing, but I don’t speak of it much, either. It was and is very hard.
Thank you for replying. It is certainly understandable. She was such a brave lady.
I just wanted to mention that Tom Van Flandern whose tremendously important contribution to astronomy and cosmology, “Dark Matter, Missing Planets, and New Comets (Paradoxes resolved, Origins Illuminated)” would also have been a fabulous guest. Sadly, he crossed over on January 9, 2009.
I wonder about the children of the invisible and the strange lives they had to live. Is there any indication that this is UFO-related in any way? Perhaps this is the way all people with very sensitive jobs live, whether it is related to UFO, the military or intelligence?
I’ve known such children. One particular boy I grew up with knew only that his father was in secret work. We never talked about it. If you asked his father what he did, he said that he was an artist with the Air Force.
“An artist with the Air Force”– what an odd and evocative description! I’m trying to imagine what that job might entail, if it actually did exist.
I have often wondered, but if you see all the insignia painted on the planes, then clearly, there must be artists in the service.
Oh, you’re right! And during WWII they painted pinup girls and such on the planes, didn’t they.
Whitley, can you safely elaborate on the schools for children that are still existing now? I’m also curious about the people who are migrating into a religion based on some of their experiences, do some of these people have issues with the abuse, for instance, that’s happened inside the Catholic church? Or is that more the political side of things? I almost went into a cloistered life in my 20s after my experiences but I just couldn’t bring myself to join the Catholic church, pretty well killed that idea. The idea of being comtemplative full time was very appealing. I have a lot of tools from studying world religions, Theosopy, healing modalities, etc and have experienced what some would call protective angels. I think it all ties in some ways. Looking forward to her continued work! Thanks again!
Gosh, so much that I could say…but won’t. Suffice to say that having a core of integrity is so, so important.
Oddly enough, I found out only in the last few years that I opted for a path very similar to Vallee and Hynek. And I have studied Gnosticism and Gnostic texts as well.
Oh, and I never took angels seriously. They seemed to me a very religious thing and I daresay, quaint. In 2005 some of the Archangels let me know differently, particularly AA Michael, AA Metatron—and particularly, AA Raphael. That was a very strange year. Thank goodness my ex-husband encouraged me to keep a journal of all that went from 2005-2007. It boggles my mind to go back and read it now.
I look forward to next week at the video chat…It should be a fascinating Q&A!
I was shocked to hear her tell the story of the person who was given a sword by arch angel Michael and brought in to do battle with a dark entity, because I had the exact same experience!!!
Spiritual warfare is correct, I have not been on those astral travels in years and I do not know if it’s because my spiritual practice has waned or if i am no longer needed or that I am just unaware of them taking place.
I kind of feel sad and lonely and miss those experiences but also that possibly it was training for something that is yet to come.
Whitley, I just had an epiphany. Well, maybe not exactly but a thought came to mind. Could the image of the woman in what looked like a hell and had dirty fingernails have been something entirely different. I am thinking it might have been a test for you to find out how far you have come in the evolution of your soul. You accepted her with TOTAL LOVE. Could she have been a messenger/angel?
It might well be a message of the kind you describe. But if she is already an angel, I hope that my daily prayers for her and all others in her situation are being put to good use, as she doesn’t actually need them.
I have also been meditating on all the evil done in the world, and there is a vast amount of that, and trying to find in myself an accepting level of peace. Forgiveness is not a matter of pretending somebody didn’t do evil, but of genuinely accepting them as they are. Not an easy task!
I knew if I mentioned this in the show I would get some good comments. Thank you for your thought. It has made me consider that perhaps she wasn’t actually suffering as much as it appeared. I thought to myself, “what can she have done to deserve this?“ Then I realized that this was not my business. My business was to give her whatever I could, and that was my love and it still is. I have the deepest possible wish that anyone and everyone in such a state would be freed from it. I found loving them is much more a part of me than disliking whatever it is they have done to bring them to such a sad estate.
Whitley, you and Carollee are on the right track. Not only can we love these people, we have the ability to heal them.
I once helped someone that had committed suicide and was a co-worker of mine. His ‘hell’ was like a big invisible box from which he could he could not escape, and he was very zombie-like, no emotion, no—nothing. It took working with him off and on for a year to get him to snap out of it, get out of the box, and move on. Several years later, I saw the movie, ‘What Dreams May Come’, and was blown away by the similarities in that movie regarding a victim of suicide. Robin Williams played a deceased character who heals his wife on the other side after she commits suicide. And Robin Williams himself committed suicide when he could no longer deal with the symptoms of his undiagnosed Lewy Body Dementia. But…Robin Williams loved life, was a genius on many levels, and his suicide—was different. I always felt that his passing was as peaceful as he could make it, with no regrets.
Cosmic, did you see my A Metal Focus message board post of an Iron Maiden tribute to ROBIN WILLIAMS?
I just checked it out. Beautiful! Thank you so much!
“What Dreams May Come” is my favorite movie ever and contains great truths.
The late great Lucifer TV series contained some similar ideas. People who ended up in Hell would experience a “hell loop”– playing over and over whatever scene they needed to learn from and get past, but most people never would. Lucifer comments at one point that the doors are always unlocked, but no one ever leaves.
At the end of the series, Lucifer has an epiphany and realizes that he needs to return to Hell not as a jailer, but as a healer. He uses what he has learned on Earth to counsel souls so that they can get past their delusions and move forward. It’s a fantastic ending.
Did the subscriber Q&A with Dr. Pasulka get rescheduled from this Saturday to next Saturday?
It did. We will have Robert Salas tomorrow and Diana Pasulka on the 16th
I was quite taken by the references to ‘seeing oneself’. That sounds about right.
I’ve long suspected that we can see our future forms at times. Usually at points where we are slowly, usually painfully, advancing forwards on a soul level.
There may well be times when we see the future forms of others too. I’ve suspected that they may appear to an individual in order to encourage them to share the experience with a certain person and facilitate understanding on continuation without disrupting other soul processes.
The path of the soul is like a fertile jungle, alive with birdsong, shimmering mirages and all contributing to the everlasting embrace of our divine Mother in this garden of consciousness.
The aviary of souls is alive and well. Rejoice!
Peace.
This episode is one of my favorites ever. Loved it.
I’ve now read “Encounters,” and I agree that everyone needs to read it.
Regarding Archangel Michael– in the late 2000s, a couple years after the period when Cosmiclibrarian was having angel encounters, I was doing a lot of psychic development practice, and Michael showed up often. I got to wondering what angels “really” are– I still do– and one day I was able to have a conversation with him about it.
I asked whether the form we recognize was what he truly is, the wings, the sword, and all that, or whether he has taken that on in order to relate to humanity in a way we can understand. He said it was the latter, and that he had existed long before that was the case, and took on this role willingly, in order to be able to serve.
Whatever all that means….
I don’t know what to make of the puppet masters of the human type, the ones who apparently guard truths that they don’t want the rest of us to understand. However, I’m less concerned about them, because if some humans have the knowledge, at some level, all of us do, because we are all really one mind.
If there are other species and realms of beings trying to control us, that’s all the more troubling. But as I contemplated this, a thought hit me with the force of revelation: “NO. WE rule.” We are the masters of our own reality, and they can’t take that away from us. That’s what came to me, at any rate.
Whatever all that means.
