This week on Dreamland, Whitley welcomes his dear friend and collaborator Dr. Jeffrey Kripal, Rice University’s J. Newton Rayzor Professor of Religion and creator of the Archives of the Impossible, for a profound discussion of disclosure, consciousness, and the experiencer’s place in the unfolding mystery.
Jeff’s new book, How to Think Impossibly, offers a crucial framework for approaching non-human intelligence without reducing it to either conventional science or inherited religion. Together, Whitley and Jeff explore why the testimony of experiencers must not be pushed aside, how imagination can become a disciplined way of knowing, and why the humanities may hold keys that science alone cannot provide.
They also discuss the danger that “disclosure,” if handled only by government, military, and scientific authorities, could imprison the experience in third-person documents while ignoring the living first-person reality at its heart. This is a searching, intimate conversation about consciousness beyond the brain, revelation, writing, AI, and the future of human understanding.

Such and excellent and profound conversation!
I wrote this about consciousness on my website:
“The brain is pretty important, along with the heart, in that it keeps the whole body up and running. But is it where consciousness originates? I don’t know anything for sure about this, but my own experiences tell me that consciousness is more of a ‘field’ that we tap into through our hearts and brains, but once they quit functioning, the field is still there and we also remain a part of it, just as we did when the brain was functioning and the heart was pumping blood. The physical body and its experiences are our challenge, and also how we experience and add to the ‘body’ of knowledge and experience of the Field of Consciousness.”
I do see consciousness as a field.
As Rumi wrote:
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
There is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
The world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
Doesn’t make any sense.
I could have listened for another hour…If Kripal could spare another hour in the near future for the Dreamland audience, it would be great!
Yes, please have Jeff on again or as a video meeting room guest.
I understand he is busy, but this was one of the finest discussions.
A very excellent podcast, deeper than almost all of what is available.
‘Thoughts appear to people’…
‘Something is flowing into our reality,…, something behind our reality.’
‘NHI do not respect sovereignty, neither personal individual, nor governmental national’. [Perhaps to psi telepathic NHI that knows we are all connected sovereignty is a delusion?]
‘People have access to reality and the government cannot change or control reality’ [It is what it is]
Something about Sexuality (taboo to discuss) but primary to this phase shift of human world view.
Experiencers Initiated = ‘Bigger hearts and more humble minds.’

What a fascinating engagement of Heart and Mind and Life. Such a wonderful discussion. Thank you both!
I am alone with no one to discuss my experiences. It is discussions like this that give me insight and explanation to my experiences. Thank you.
I have always been a visual person. Things just float into my head, ideas mainly presented as pictures. Things come to me that I was not thinking about. Sometimes the pictures are just so random, I don’t know what to connect them to. The show has allowed me to understand what is going on. I am not a writer so I’m not sure what I am to do with it. Sometimes it’s obvious sometimes it isn’t. Recently, this visual presentation has increased. I will assume this is a prep for the future.
SK your words resonated with me and I can see how you are blessed. Solitude is a divine blessing and once you are on the path it becomes the only way. One can be married and on the path, one can be mired in the criticism of others and yet blissfully walk the path, bathed in the understanding that critics are your greatest friends and allies. All one in simple love.
Keep true to your core SK. I don’t know you and we will never meet but I see your blessed aura and it makes me joyous.
To quote a poem quoted by Carlos Castaneda:
The Conditions of a Solitary Bird by St. John of the Cross (San Juan de la Cruz)
The conditions of a solitary bird are five:
The first, that it flies to the highest point;
The second, that it does not suffer for company,
not even of its own kind;
The third, that it aims its beak to the skies;
The fourth, that it does not have a definite color;
The fifth, that it sings very softly.
I say peace, yet peace is often shrill with birdsong.

What an amazing conversation! I was struck with Jeff’s comments about sovereignty and trying to preserve sovereignty (at all levels) being a key issue in the human reaction to the visitors. As a writer I utterly resonated with the description of consciousness flowing through me as a creative. Characters show up in my awareness. I don’t make them up. The main joy of writing is getting to know them and what story is trying to be told. As far as the effect on readers from the consciousness flowing through the writer, no one describes that better than Brenda Ueland in her book, If You Want to Write. She calls this flow a “transmission” and an “infection “, quoting Tolstoy as well. It was published in 1938, so you have to make a few cultural allowances. But it’s a wonderful read.
I could listen to you and Jeff talk for hours. Wonderful episode, thanks.
And strangely addressed a few reservations and interests I have about theoretically becoming an experiencer, which I was thinking about right before listening. It also reminded me of the importance of the creative life, which is almost forcibly stamped out of us.
Dr. Jeffrey Kripal, PLEASE do come back for another interview…
Awakened Imagination & Creativity Spirit and soul communicate to our personalities through the language used by our imagination. Creativity is fueled by imagination. The form of imagination referred to here is a higher vibration-an awakened imagination. This is not worrisome thoughts or anxiety-fueled imaginings from our egos. The awakened imagination originates within the higher essence of our beings. It is a strong, centered Presence within us that communicates clearly if we take time to listen. The soul’s language takes several forms. They are: Clairvoyance—Clear Seeing. Imagery, pictures, and visuals. Symbolism, dreams Clairaudience—Clear Hearing. “Hearing” words, phrases, and sentences. This is usually an internal voice. It is similar to our thoughts. Clairsentience—Clear Feeling. This is where one may experience physical issues that are happening within another’s body. They often also sense emotions and feelings belonging to another person. It is a form of empathy. Claircognizance—Clear knowing. Basically, is intuition. One suddenly receives information or insights without any prior knowledge or logical explanation. Most people excel in one or more of these areas.
Edgar Cayce Reading 239-1
Depend more upon the intuitive forces from within…but learn to listen to that still small voice within.

Such a great interview thanks Whitley.
