In this episode, guest host Kelly Chase brings you a conversation with the brilliant UFO researcher, historian, author, and beloved member of UAP Media UK, Graeme Rendall. Graeme is the author of several books focused on historical UFO cases from the 1940s and 1950s including UFOs Before Roswell: European Foo Fighters 1940-1945 and Chasing Shadows: Aerial UFO Encounters 1955-1956 [see link below for all Graeme’s books].

Graeme has earned wide acclaim within the UFO community for his meticulous research and attention to detail in bringing forward historical cases from the dawn of the modern UFO era. His books are truly some of the most valuable reference materials available on cases from this time period.

In this conversation Graeme shares his research methodology, how his research has informed his view of the UFO phenomenon, one of his favorite cases from the foo fighter era, and much more.

  1. Don’t know about others, but I felt the first 30 min. were about 28min too many on the topic of writing and researching procedure and technique… that’s not what i come here for… I would have preferred most of the show to have been about the different Foo and UFO cases themselves. It felt like you were assuming that the audience had also already read the book. I would have preferred to have heard more about the book’s content rather than how it was written.

    1. I agree. Only one case described briefly.

I am seeking data, not methodology. I am perfectly aware of how much of the lore is false. Disinformation works by flooding the topic with truth and falsehood mixed until there is just too much noise to sort it out. I’ve been researching for over fifty years and its time to stop walking around the more important aspects.

      1. I have to agree. I wanted to hear more about the foo fighters themselves. This went on and on for quite a while without much actual content, and Graeme talks fast and isn’t easy to understand at times.

One thing that really caught my attention, though, was the talk about how so many people are unrealistic about how much someone like Lue Elizondo can actually reveal, that there are various real constraints on them.

      2. I understand the critics here, but this podcast’s point was probably to address the worries of people like Sunbow who are aware of all the disinformation and legendary elements in ufology. Then you guys can rest assured that if you buy the book you will find real data, not legends or disinformation.

  2. I am curious whether the German pilots also saw the foo fighters. Did they think it was secret anglo-american technology ?

    1. From what I’ve read, the German pilots did indeed see their equivalent of ‘foo’ fighters. Amongst other things they called them ‘feuerballs’ (fireballs)…but as far as I can find out, there were speculations on both sides as to their origins…but nothing definitive. One interesting nugget I read was that apparently the phenomenon stopped when the German army was defeated…so make of that what you will.

  3. The Germans were trying to develop a flying disk:

It does not appear that they were successful, nor supposedly were subsequent ‘flying disks’ developed by the USA, however…

I find it more than interesting in the Betty and Barney Hill case that someone, appearing to be a Nazi German WWII officer, was seen by them through a window on the UFO. When I read ‘The Interrupted Journey’ as a kid, this stood out to me. It still does, even though I still question all of it. (Yes, I’ve been researching and studying all this for a long time! And I quit using ‘google’ several years ago.) Like with Whitley, I’m not sure what really happened to him in that cabin in New York, but something strange did happen to Whitley….and to the Hills.

I’m glad Kelly brought up book covers. I read ‘Communion’ after reading a review in the Sunday paper when it was released. (I went to the bookstore and bought it the same day!) I already knew Whitley’s fiction, but when I saw that face on ‘Communion’, it sealed the deal. And no, that face didn’t scare me. Quite the opposite.

Luis Elizondo has a book out in August called ‘Imminent: Inside the Pentagon’s Hunt for UFOs’. From Amazon:

“The former head of the Pentagon program responsible for the investigation of UFOs—now known as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP)—reveals long-hidden truths with profound implications for not only national security but our understanding of the universe.”

Here we go again. The “long-hidden truths” and “profound implications”. Money will be made, but will we have ‘official’ disclosure? Does it matter? Would we (should we) believe what we are told?

    Stay ‘tuned’…

    1. “Money will be made:”
Elizondo gave up on a stable job and (if I remember correctly) his retirement benefits to fight for “disclosure”. So he is certainly not in it for the money.

      1. Not quite true. He ‘retired’, and requested deferred benefits, which he should be eligible for at age 62, I believe. ( You can find that information/documentation at the Black Vault).

No doubt he is intelligent, well educated, and willing to take risks, and an impressive record. I’m just saying that after watching all of this for many years, we’ve heard much of this before. There seems to be traction this time around, but also slow traction, going back to 2017.

Also, you might find a talk that I posted on the message board that appears to be getting some attention, but mainly for a select group (David Grusch did something similar for a private, well-heeled audience recently)

        1. All right, it seems that I did not remember this quite correctly after all…

  4. My comments were posted yesterday before most of these others…must be caught in the spam filter…

    1. I am so sorry that you have this trouble with the spam filter, Cosmic. We have never been able to pin down the problem. We just watch for them and post them as soon as we see them. I apologize for the delay this time.

      1. I’m not sure what’s happening either, Whitley. I have theories, but so far I haven’t given in to paranoia.😁

    2. …And…here we go again! My response to Pascal isn’t showing up. Oh, well…

  5. Interesting show and guest. I enjoyed the off topic discussions, especially little side-lines about dinner with Luis Elizonso and his family. If I’m interested in the author and topic, I should support them and buy his book 🙂

    Keep up the good work.
