Back in 2006, Bill Sweet of Spindrift Research was with us on Dreamland discussing the mysterious disappearances of 2 colleagues who were doing scientific research into the power of prayer. Bruce and John Klingbeil had made some powerful breakthroughs in understanding how and why prayer can work. Then they disappeared. Bill worked with them, and here he tells us where the investigation has gone since, speculates on who might have killed them, and explains the discoveries about prayer that might have gotten them killed.
How best to pray? Bill offers the information that Klingbeils might have lost their lives trying to bring to the world in his book Journey into Prayer.
Bill’s website is Spindriftresearch.org.

Interesting. Thank you. You
Interesting. Thank you. You just make evil sound quite a bit more decadent and ominously thrilling than what we usually experience. I mean, some powerful psychic being after you sounds like high adventure. But how about a nice mother who keeps praying for the success of her daughter. And being a total materialist, success means material stuff. This prayer is effectively a curse if the target has a bit different interests in life. And then there’s that pesky stuff: subconscious agenda. What one ends up setting up for oneself while consciously wanting/wishing something totally different. So, defence against dark arts might be a bit more pedestrian than fighting demons.
Prayer is simple. It flows
Prayer is simple. It flows out of the intention of the person doing the praying. Nothing else matters.

Evil is real, but prayer
Evil is real, but prayer works. The attacks on Christianity (but not on Islam) in the media are part of the effort to turn us from prayer and God. Look at the communist countries for the global plan.
I don’t understand why
I don’t understand why Christians think the have the only “answer.” There are many religions in this world and they each have some virtue and they each have something “silly” about them.
The fundamentalist Christians are manipulating and funding policies all over the world (and in the U.S. military) that are inhumane. I find that reprehensible.
More than anything else, Islam needs a reformation because it is inhumane.
I think Bill Maher is fed up with the stupidity and the true evil of it all. I think he is a good person . He stands up for human rights. One doesn’t need to believe in a supreme entity to have ethics or morals.
I personally don’t believe in the “GOD” of my catholic upbringing. I admit that that stopped for me the day my mother died when I was 14 years old. I believe that the idea of a “creator” is too limited. I believe that we have created a creator but in reality we cannot wrap our minds areound the truth because it is just too complex for us to comprehend at this time in our evolution. Yes, I believe in spiriutual evolution.
I consider myself to be a very spiritual person. I work at it every day. I have found something that I can relate to,….a guidance system whose language I resonate with and it has given me actual proof of the truth of it’s working. I feel everyone should try to find what resonates with them and to be active in pursuing their spiritual development. I am going to pray for Ann in my way and I know it will help because I believe the “source” presents infinite possibilities. Love to all.

At some point in my teens, I
At some point in my teens, I started praying silently when I’d lay down to go to bed in the evening. All I’d pray for is the health and well being of my parents, my siblings, myself and in the past ten years I added my wife and my son.
I’ve been doing this for 25 years now and so far everyone is still healthy and alive. I’d like to think my prayers have contributed to that.
Your guest never did get to
Your guest never did get to his observations on the Klingbeils, and I didn’t like the way he trashed Bill Marrs.
I actually enjoy watching
I actually enjoy watching Bill Maher’s HBO show. It’s just his anti-religion and anti-God stuff repeatedly sited that gets to me. It is understandable why he hates religion. After all, terrible acts have been done in God’s name. I remember when Bill Maher believed in God, but that too caught up with his disbelief in religion. More and more people are turning away from religion and a belief in God. The Muslim terrorists are partly responsible for that change, but so is technology which is replacing God. I like technology. It’s just that it’s the new God for some people. — Bill Sweet with http://www.SpindriftResearch.org
There are no attacks on
There are no attacks on Christianity by non religious people. The attacks that do exist come from other religions and vice versa. What non religious (maybe spiritual or non believers) don’t like is being told that they have to follow some religious belief and everything that goes with it and being told that they can not be “good” people unless they believe in God. What you perceive as attacks is actually push back. Try to get your heads wrapped around that!

Outstanding interview…I’d
Outstanding interview…I’d like to have heard more, if known, about the current status of investigations into the Klingbells’ deaths. The power of prayer, intention, meditation affects your aura/energy field & b/c we’re all connected that field interacts w/one’s surrounding field at large. The atomic changes things. Hence, prayer changes things to use a cliché. I will continue to pray for Anne’s recovery, for the good that she & Whitley are committed & for us–those who subscribe and support Unknown Country.

If evil prayer is more
If evil prayer is more effective than positive prayer, it is probably due to the intensity of the emotions surrounding the prayer and of mental focus. When someone wishes to harm another, they are usually driven by intense passion, and have a very clear idea of what harm they want to cause, and will dwell on that intention again and again, which would result in the direction of highly concentrated energy. When we are praying for good, we are often less focused, and our intentions less specific. Although we may feel strongly about what we want from the prayer, we may not be driven by the kind of intense and single-minded passion that can be generated by anger, hatred, jealousy or fear. If we want to empower our positive prayers, we must, as the Masters taught us, love and care with all our hearts, desire the others’ wellbeing completely, passionately, and never waver in our intentions. God (or whatever greater forces we believe in) may be ready to respond to our prayers, but WE must generate the power that will activate the desired response. We must learn to pray for good outcomes with the single-mindedness of a magician.
Kristiina, “You just make
Kristiina, “You just make evil sound quite a bit more decadent and ominously thrilling than what we usually experience. I mean, some powerful psychic being after you sounds like high adventure.” I can tell you that it is! Whitley and Bill, do you know how much this offered to my prayer life? The difference between goal directed prayer and non goal directed prayer was phenomenal! I mean to say that it is true that order restored at any level is exactly what a being needs..and that sometimes I imagine I know what a being needs without being correct in my assessment. No ulterior agenda, either. There is, of course, the Spirit on a praying person, sometimes, Who will add to the prayer by suggesting who needs what, specifically, and I know to pray for anyone who’s on my mind. At any rate, this is gonna add a lot of blessing to the lives of a lot of people.
Thank you, Tosca, I agree.
Thank you, Tosca, I agree. I’d like to share that I’d seen a YouTube video where, at the end, they had a guy who knew about quantum physics. Deep within the mathematics, apparently, there are codes. Not just any codes but computer codes. The kind of codes that are used for self-repair. Self-repair is built in, and I know that I heard a show which included something to do with this. The idea of being able to self repair our own bodies is in us. But we’ve got some level of disconnect, but that’s for a reason: that we wouldn’t know what it means to be whole, unless we start out at least partially broken.
