In this thought-provoking conversation, guest host Kelly Chase welcomes philosopher Kimberly Engels to Dreamland to explore the cutting edge of experiencer research. Engels, an associate professor at Molloy University, shares insight into a groundbreaking metadata study at Rice University’s Archives of the Impossible, drawing on firsthand accounts from both the Strieber and John Mack archives.

Together, they dive deep into the philosophical implications of anomalous experiences, why phenomenology is such a powerful lens for this work, and how contact with non-human intelligences can lead to radical ethical transformation. Engels also shares a preview of her upcoming book, A Phenomenology of the Phenomenon, and offers a rare, personal glimpse into how this research has reshaped her own life and worldview.

If you’re curious about the deeper meaning behind the phenomenon—and what it can teach us about consciousness, ethics, and human potential—this conversation is not to be missed.

  2. An absorbing discussion and raised a point that’s of personal importance.

It’s often difficult to raise the subject of otherworldly presences at work with colleagues and I was, frankly, relieved to hear Kimberley talk about questioning the when and how of how to go around this.

    Thank you for this discussion.

It was nice to hear the traditional Dreamland theme again.. I like the new theme but still miss the old one.

    Peace.

  3. I just want to say how much I appreciate these discussions and look forward to them every week.

I especially appreciate the sincerity and matter-of-fact tone, just people talking about what they have seen and what has happened to them, no sensationalization. I mean, the subjects are sensational enough…. Generally Dreamland is sober and thoughtful and doesn’t go in for anything unnecessarily lurid or clickbaity. Thank you.
