What happens when serious science confronts the impossible—and refuses to look away? Find out in this mindbending show!
In this episode of Dreamland, Whitley Strieber is joined by returning guest Steve Aspin and his collaborator, molecular biologist Andreas Lueck, co-authors of Investigating the Impossible. Together, they dive into some of the most controversial and compelling anomalies of our time.
At the center of the discussion are the enigmatic tridactyl mummies of Nazca—beings that challenge our understanding of biology, evolution, and even reality itself. Are they hoaxes, unknown terrestrial life, or something far stranger—perhaps visitors from another timeline or parallel world?
The conversation moves beyond speculation into rigorous analysis: DNA testing, MRI scans, and cellular biology are brought to bear on questions most scientists won’t touch. Along the way, the guests examine the infamous “Khoury hair” case, the disputed Reddit biology document, and the deeper question of hybridization—what it is, and whether it may already be part of our world.
But this is not a conversation of easy answers. Even here, there is disagreement—about evidence, interpretation, and what it all might mean. And that tension makes this one of the most honest and thought-provoking explorations of the phenomenon you will hear.
If wisdom once “found no dwelling place among men,” as the Book of Enoch suggests, perhaps it is because we have not yet learned how to face what we are discovering.
Listen closely. The implications may be closer than you think.
Please note that there is now a link to the subscriber version of the video in the comments below. The issue will be resolved this week.

To Amy or whoever handles website issues:
The Download function not working for me using this new Website presentation. Using a Mac with the Tahoe operating system. When I click the download button on the right as instructed I only have choices of “copy Link”, “Share”, “services”. There is no “download:. I have downloaded Dreamland for many years. This new version of the website no longer allows it on a MAC. Maybe it works on a PC.
I found the problem. I was trying to download the May 15 edition. Since you are on the west coast you probably have not finished setting up the download yet. The edition from May 8 works OK.

Dave Mackey – Longtime subscriber. Hi Whitley. I owe you an email.
Hi, Dave. The webmaster will get all the glitches fixed over the next few days. I am hoping to get enough money to do the next phase, which is a high end search engine that will at last open up the site’s incredible archive to real exploration. There is a vast amount of material here. Also, I am planning to undertake a project of creating transcripts of all the shows and getting those into the search engine. Many plans!
Hi Whitley
It all works now. I was just too eager to download the brand new podcast very early in the AM in NH, forgetting that it was not yet daytime in CA. Not really a problem the webmaster need worry about.
I often think about the days with you and Ann in 1969 at the Gurdjieff Institute, sitting in Joe Stein’s meeting room and learning the sensing exercise.
With the new website is there going to be a YouTube link for members? Thank you
It’s on YouTube, but with ads. I haven’t seen a subscriber’s link posted, but I bet it will be shortly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brPzwSuyDvU
The link isthere but hard to find. I do not like the new design of this website.
The Reply button, on my MacBook Pro running OS Tahoe, is a beautiful but eye-searing electric blue, and the pale grey letters on it are almost illegible. Similar issue with the SAVE, CANCEL and DELETE buttons for editing comments.
Yeesh this new site is going to take some getting used to. Very, VERY hard on the eyes.
Also, there is no download button to the right of the links. I can right-click to download, but the site says there is a button and there’s not.
I also have a really hard time reading white lettering on a dark background. Is there an option to go to a light rather than dark version?
I need the easier to read option as well. Thanks!
Thank you! How did you find this?
Thank you! How did you find this?
Another oops. We’ll make the subscriber video link findable.
Seems to be working for me on my Mac, running Catalina. What browser? I use Firefox.
James, here’s the link to YouTube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brPzwSuyDvU
Since I know all is working, I’ll be listening later. I have a particular interest in the Nazca mummies.
Not a subscriber link. A few minutes in there is a 4:55 minute You Tube Add _ I’m bailing until it is fixed.
I absolutely cannot find a subscriber YouTube link either.
Please give me a chance! We will get everything fixed!!
OK! Good luck and thanks! It’s already significantly easier to read than the other day when everything was white on a dark background. And the REPLY buttons now show up clearly too.
Thanks much for the link, I’m on Firefox but my old phone is flummoxed 😊
Wow! This was fascinating! I’ve followed the Nazca mummies for a few years, and the lines and pictographs on the Plains of Nazca, as well. In just the last two weeks I’ve looked at the mummies again on the website, so odd timing. I’ve had no doubts a the reality of these beings.
I also, just in the last two days, discussed the ‘timeline’ situation, with a friend online, including the Grandfather Paradox. I personally don’t feel it even is a problem. It’s more like the timeline…splits off into a new one. So, at some point two timelines begin to have a different future, and as time goes on, different pasts, but only to the point where the split occurred. From there back, the past would be the same or shared. It will boggle your mind to think about, what with so many possible splits…?
Years ago, Linda Moulton Howe did a story about an alleged future human known as J Rod. Since her site is by subscription, I found a site that follows the information about JRod that she has quite well. JRod’s concept of time and reality also is very similar to mine.
https://patriotpages.wordpress.com/2026/01/23/rod-the-alleged-non-human-entity-and-its-claims-about-the-nature-of-reality/
I’m glad that technology and science have evolved so that we can make some progress with figuring out these mysteries, including the one about about the hairs found on Peter Khoury, another well-known case. I’ll need to listen to this Dreamland again.
Thank you so much for the link; invaluable!
You’re welcome!
It’s not working at all for me. They assume I understand what they’re talking about as far as downloading. I never had this problem before. I don’t like anything about the new look at the website or how it’s laid out.
That’s very disappointing. I worked for nearly a year on this with the webmaster.
The trouble with techs designing websites is that they aren’t doing it from the perspective of the end-user (us). For example… white on black or any other colour often fades away and it unreadable. There should be more ‘white space’ which is easier on the eye. I had to search hard for the items I normally go to here… there’s a logic to design… my husband was a website architect and shared these things with me whenever we encountered sites that were troublesome. The only way I could read certain sites was to cut and paste the text onto a blank page and then change the text colour to black. Frustrating and I’m sure Whitley is beside himself with all the complaints, but we do need to have it fixed.
I’m having that kind of issue with The Sentinel site, too. They do the whole thing in dramatic-looking white type on a black background. I’m sure they think it looks cool, but just try actually reading their long, technical posts! I’ve tried cutting and pasting onto a white background just like you. Fortunately their posts can be read directly from the emails they send, too. Maybe they have much younger eyes than mine!
Whitley’s site is already miles easier compared to just a few days ago, with the comments now on a white background.
We are still working, and if you have anything more that would help you enjoy the new site, I am right here, just let me know in comments or email me at whitley@strieber.com or both!
I can’t find the Link to watch it on YouTube ? this sucks.
I really wanted to watch this uncut without ads. why so difficult ?
The new site has only been live for a few hours. We will get the glitches out!
I have not watched the new episode yet, and probably will not until the subscriber version is clearly linked. I do NOT like the new design–it’s harder to read with a dark background, the latest episode is harder to find, and the subscriber version is even harder to find. For the record, I’m using Windows 11 and Chrome.
If you want folks to subscribe, don’t make things more difficult for subscribers.
Am I the only one to listen or watch the episode so far? Yes, there are glitches when sites make changes, they’ll work through them with feedback coming in, however…Don’t wait on this episode. Yes, there are some ads, and I’ve been a subscriber for a long time. I just fast forwarded through the ads, because this Dreamland is so important. You’ll see why.
Whitley, thanks for this episode, big time. It was worth a few glitches and ads. You have been involved with the mummies for years, and I was on the periphery for awhile with the lines and geoglyphs of Nazca. I now understand there is a connection to the mummies, and it can’t be a coincidence.
Blessings…and patience!
Thank you for saying this! I was so upset when I saw these comments. I know what Dreamland means to people. I have posted the link to the subscriber video below.
You’re welcome! I was the ‘go to’ for computer and tech issues at several employers, and also did some beta testing too….and it was never my primary job. I understand impatience and also work-arounds. The bugs will be worked out. But really…this week’s episode was great, even with ads.
Exactly. Cut the man some slack. Good lord, it’s gonna be OK.
I’m going to be patient with this new design but it will take some getting used to.
I also find the print on the new design harder to read.
I have my sound up to max and it’s still not loud enough.
I have to learn my way around the set up like in a grocery store when they change everything around and you can’t find anything!!
I love all you do for us Whitley, but can you tell your “tech people” to make this more “user friendly”?
And I’m wondering what advantages there is in the new design? If any.
Thanks!
The purpose of the new design is to make the site more accessible. More is upfront, and Dreamland is the first goto you see now. I think that, as people get used to it, they will find it easier to use.
Steve Aspin and Andreas Lueck, this is an intriguing interview and am looking forward to your next interview on Dreamland.
Here is a direct link to the subscriber video version. We will be sure that the subscriber video is visible as it should be in the future: https://youtu.be/plLh3vD9PZ8
thanks!
people don’t like change (as evidenced) but change is welcome in my book, I’m sure the site will be much better with time
all the best!
Thank you! Wouldn’t you know that one of the things that people want most would turn out to be missing, namely the feed to the subscriber video feed? So very annoying. As to the look and feel, we will be changing the color of the reply button and also doing numerous other things, so suggestions are welcome!
Whitley, this is a stunning interview. Truly appreciate the scientific caliber of these guests. So grateful!
AND: Patience and Grace to you…always takes some stop & start & meandering about with new websites. You are a true treasure.

Ok, one more thing, which may or may not be important regarding the Nazca mummies, and more time allowing things to bubble up in my brain.
About dimensions and realities that may be shared with us…in the same ‘space’. For a long time, UFOs were seen over nuclear weapons facilities, and even over the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Japan that was damaged during an earthquake/tsumami in 2011. Whitley mentioned a man who supposedly found the mummies in a cave, yet no one knows where he found them. Could this man have discovered a place where dimensional ‘walls’ can be crossed? Taking it further, might some things done in our dimension directly affect others? I would think that things such as a nuclear blast could do that, and I believe that something like that was mentioned in the Valle/Harris book, ‘Trinity’.
I’m also curious if there is any connection between the Nazca mummies and Aramu Muru (Gate of the Gods) in Peru. Aramu Muru is a distance away from Nazca, but is also said to be a possible dimensional gateway. Has anyone ever explored these connections?
Re: dimensional gateways–
Doesn’t it seem like the mummies could be a kind of cryptid species?
Except that (as far as I know) we don’t find cryptid bodies lying around?
This interview is fascinating. I haven’t had any idea what to think of the Nazca beings, and frankly I had believed what I saw about them being hoaxes, but the concept of them coming from the future or a different timeline seems worth pursuing.
I got stuck on the mention of digits with 6 phalanges. Aspin or Lueck said that there are no animals with 6 phalanges, but that’s not strictly true, though I suppose it’s true of primates. The reason I flashed on that was that I had just watched a PBS program involving David Attenborough presenting discoveries about ichthyosaurs. I had noticed that the ichthyosaurs’ front flippers had a bajillion small bones, and extra digits, like so:
https://www.reptileevolution.com/ichthyosaurus.htm
Also, dolphins are an example of mammals who have developed more phalanges over time, up to 5: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2F8kuu6xlxmlzc1.jpeg
I had thought that the numbers of digits and numbers of bones in them had been conserved across mammalian species more than is actually the case. Given the facts above, it doesn’t seem like an extreme stretch to imagine that beings like us, with 5 digits and 2-3 phalanges per digit, could evolve into and/or be related to other humanoid species with different numbers of those.
The mummies are an extraordinary mystery, but they are somehow tangled up in the whole US Government UAP/aliens psychosis. At one point, they even tried, through a billionaire proxy, to buy the entire Nazca region, but the Peruvian people got very upset and they had to back down. Unfortunately, I don’t think they will ever allow the truth to be found, let alone to come out. I have worked on this for years. It has been very frustrating.
