Infamously, John Paul died mysteriously with a list of members of the Curia who were to be purged literally lying on a table beside his bed. Immediately after his death, all pills and food that had been near him were removed and have never been seen since. His body was embalmed and he was buried, and rumors flew about his death. John Cornwell, in his book A Thief in the Night, established that there were clear signs of serious illness, but they were willfully ignored and he was, at the least, allowed to die when he could have been saved.
What will happen when Pope Francis confronts the Curia with the "Relatio," a document prepared under the direction of Cardinal Julian Herran, which is said to reveal blackmail, secret cabals and criminal activity rampant in the Curia? Pope Francis has spoken critically of the church’s governing body many times. And what of the Vatican Bank, which is under intense scrutiny for money laundering and will lose its access to the Euro unless it discloses more of its activities?

I know, I know…no reason in the world to believe me. Just another crackpot among the 8 billion people on the planet. I’m just saying what I know. I have no idea when the Sixth Seal will be opened. I do know that the Sixth Seal opening will be the start of the real Sh_T. Could be tonight. Could be 100 years from now. Could be in 1,000 years. I’m not generally informed of such things in advance and have no idea why I’m informed at all at the time. I also have no idea why I’m posting this here now. It’s not like there’s any way to prove any such thing. But for what it’s worth…there it is.

If that is the case, then, why has the general, world media assumed it was Francis of Assisi so honored? Seems to me just another example of the media jumping to conclusions based on emotion rather than facts.

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis offered intimate insights Saturday into the moments after his election, telling journalists that he was immediately inspired to take the name of St. Francis of Assisi because of his work for peace and the poor — and that he himself would like to see “a poor church and a church for the poor.”
“Let me tell you a story,” Francis said in a break from his prepared text during a special gathering for thousands of journalists, media workers and guests in the Vatican’s auditorium.

There appears to be an assumption in the media that The Pope represents Christianity. He only represents Christianity if you are Catholic.
Organized religion, in general, does not seem to be in the best interests of the world’s people, but it does seem self-serving. (To be clear, I am speaking of all faiths that believe in one almighty God, or even gods, as a being or beings to be served and ‘obeyed’) Any faith that believes it is the ONLY way towards spirit, light, and some kind of ‘reward’, is suspect.
Yet, millions and millions of people continue to allow themselves to be be blindly led by other human beings who have an agenda that often sucks the souls out of out the very people being led. Religion has split apart more people than it has brought together, whether it is in the name of God, Allah, Jehovah, et al. Endless wars, persecutions, torture, murders, and one of the biggest destroyers of Spirit, GUILT, have held people prisoners for centuries in the name of The Almighty.
Regarding St. Malachy, a priest of The Dark Ages, I suppose that in his eyes, the end of The Church would mean the end of the world. During The Dark Ages, The Church was The World, and also one of the reasons that The World was so dark. With the fall of the Roman Empire, the vast majority of the European population was destitute, starving, disease ridden, ignorant, and rudderless. They also were easy pawns of The Church. If you had nothing to look forward to but a short, miserable life, the promise of Heaven was about the only thing worth shooting for, and The Church was there for you, dangling that carrot of eternal life, walking streets paved with gold, if you would only obey and follow their rules and give 100% allegiance to a human man sitting on a throne of gold in Rome.
…And yet, after all of these hundreds of years, The Dark Ages have not entirely left us, have they?

Sorry to post this here. However, with time constraints, etc., it’s the best I can do. The player used to work beautifully on my dialup connection. Now, it doesn’t. That means, I have to spend extra time trying to download the show. Some of us don’t come close to having the latest and greatest tech because, frankly, I can’t afford it.

the truth. I think this needs to be looked at not as a religious issue – this is big dirty, world-wide business – entwined with world wide drugs, and violence. Francis may try to rip this all open, including linkages to the U.S intelligence “community” This is huge – very ugly, and world wide corruption. Francis does indeed need to watch his back. Whitley as you say, the parallels with President Kennedy as he tried to fight this terrible terrible evil is all too obvious. It gives me nightmares…..

I would also add: How clearly was this predicted? Or was it a dart thrown in the dark that eventually hit somewhere and now we say “this is EXACTLY where it meant to hit”?
But I guess we have to keep up with the news. This might very well be the last pope, but I think this might be due to the loss of interest on the part of the public, Catholics in particular.

As difficult as this may be to understand, many of us do not care one way or the other who is Pope of the Catholic Church. And how is a Pope supposed to “act”? He does not represent me or my beliefs. While I do hope that he is a decent man who will do the right thing, he is no more important to the world at large than any other government or religious leader. Is he a true reflection of his ‘flock’, or vice versa? Only time will tell. He has a tough task in front of him, but like with any other public figure he is going to rely heavily on public relations, and it would appear that The Church has already staged its comeback via this extremely quick choice in new leadership on the heels of a surprising resignation of Benedict. This was quite the coup.
I feel that anytime we pin all of our hopes and dreams on one person to turn things around we are headed down a slippery slope, because many feel that it lets US off the hook “…to be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Cut our throats? Nah! We should keep our eyes, minds, and ears open and never forget history, and we all should continue to work at being the best that we can be in terms of compassion and creating a better world.

Your stance on the Catholic church isn’t difficult to understand CL I was merely pointing out how negative a few posts were. Yours included. As if we need more negativity in our lives. I just wish him the best and I’m most certainly NOT part of his flock nor do I “pin all my hopes and dreams on one person” like so many seem to have done with Obama. Talking about slippery slopes.
