Apples and apple juice may be among the best foods that people of EVERY age can consume, according to new research. Apple products can help boost brain function in ways similar to medication (however, it should be noted that this study was sponsored by the U.S. Apple Association).
Animal research shows that drinking apple juice may actually increase the production in the brain of an essential neurotransmitter, resulting in improved memory. Researcher Thomas Shea says, “We anticipate that the day may come when foods like apples, apple juice and other apple products are recommended along with the most popular Alzheimer’s medications.”
There’s more good news about aging brains: scienitst have developed a once-a-day pill that may be able to cure Alzheimer’s disease. It works in mice, and human trials will begin soon.
