A group of FBI memos reveal that alien bodies were discovered at the UFO crash in Roswell in 1947. One memo, from special agent Guy Hottel, states that "three so-called flying saucers have been recovered in New Mexico. They were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50 feet in diameter. Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape but only 3 feet tall." The memo states that the bodies were "dressed in a metallic cloth of a very fine texture. Each body was bandaged in a manner similar to the blackout suits used by speed flyers and test pilots." The memos have been around for years, but only recently appeared in a publicly accessible form on the FBI website. Their sudden appearance surprised many people, who did not know that they existed. But the Hottel Memo was originally obtained by UFO investigator Bruce Maccabee via a Freedom of Information request 20 years ago. It has been debunked, but unconvincingly. Whitley Strieber says: "When I wrote my novel Majestic about the Roswell Incident, I was told about this by my uncle, who was in military intelligence at the time, and by his friend, the former commandant of Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Both men were actually present when the remains referred to in this memo were brought to the Air Materiel Command at Wright Field in July of 1947." Whitley’s novel Majestic, now out of print, will be republished in 2011.
