A newly released FBI interview and accompanying digital rendering document two former Army service members’ account of a low-flying triangular object observed in 2011. The material documents the witnesses’ recollections but does not independently verify the reported event.
The FBI has released an interview documenting a reported unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) sighting from June or July 2011, along with a digital rendering created from the eyewitnesses’ descriptions.
According to an FBI FD-302 interview conducted in April 2025, two former U.S. Army service members recalled observing what they described as a large, black triangular object while leaving a residential driveway between approximately 8 and 9 p.m. One witness said he first noticed three lights in the sky before exiting the vehicle and seeing what he described as a massive black triangle moving north at low altitude.
The witnesses told investigators the object displayed a large white light recessed into each of its three corners and emitted what they described as a low humming sound with a pulsing quality. The object reportedly remained visible for approximately 10 to 15 seconds before disappearing beyond a tree line. One witness estimated it was roughly 800 feet above the ground and approximately 200 feet long by 100 feet wide, although those dimensions were described as estimates based on the surrounding environment.

The interview also notes that neither witness could clearly remember the object’s vertical profile because they were initially beneath it and were briefly distracted while attempting to retrieve a cellphone to record it. The recording attempt was unsuccessful.
The FBI stated that the accompanying digital rendering was created in 2026 as a visual aid for the PURSUE initiative and was based solely on the firsthand descriptions provided during the interview. The agency emphasized that the illustration is an artistic interpretation rather than a photograph or direct evidence of the reported object.
The interview further notes that the witnesses believed other people in the neighborhood may also have observed the incident and said they would attempt to determine whether additional witnesses were willing to provide statements to the FBI.
The released documents preserve the witnesses’ recollections but do not independently verify the event or identify the object described. Beyond recording the interview and producing the accompanying illustration, the released materials provide no corroborating evidence, photographs, radar data, or official conclusion regarding the nature of the reported object.

This matches the description of an object that followed me and my family home from my aunt’s home in Wimberly, Tx one Christmas Eve over 20 years ago. It was very strange, and I thought I was seeing things. I didn’t say anything for about 15 miles, then my son said: “Mom, those lights have been following us ever since we left Aunt Kay’s house.” I said, “You see them too?” Thank goodness.
There’s more to the story that I won’t go into, but suffice to say that it was aware that we were aware of it.
Thank you for sharing. It is great to see that the release of these UFO files is helping to validate the experiences of so many people. While we already know what we witnessed, it is reassuring to have official confirmation and to know we are not alone.
