We once scandalized our readers by revealing that sperm is an excellent antidepressant. Now we’re going to shock you again by reporting that masturbation may protect men from prostate cancer.
A new study shows that men can reduce their risk of getting prostate cancer if they masturbate regularly, because cancer-causing chemicals build up in the prostate when men do not ejaculate on a regular basis. The protective effect works best for men in their 20’s (which is the age when men tend to do the most masturbating!)
BBC news quotes Australian researcher Anthony Smith as saying, “Masturbation is part of people’s sexual repertoire. If these findings hold up, then it’s perfectly reasonable that men should be encouraged to masturbate.”
