According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one heart attack in 50 in industrialized nations is caused by chronic exposure to loud traffic, and it’s not just the pollution that’s doing it. By adding rubber "crumbs" to regular paving materials, engineers have found that they can cut traffic noise by 25%. Since more and more people are moving into cities, all over the world, this would decrease mortality worldwide.
