Milk comes from contented cows, and the decline in milk production due to climate change varies across the country, since there are humidity and temperature swings between night and day vary as well. The humidity and hot nights make the Southeast the most unfriendly place for dairy cows. The Economist quotes economist Yoram Bauman as saying, "Cows are happy in parts of Northern California and not in Florida."

The Arctic is melting and the sea level is rising–but it won’t rise evenly around the globe. In the US, oceanographers tell us that the East coast will be the first place in the US that will be inundated. From Cape Hatteras to just north of Boston, sea levels are rising much faster in the East than they are in the rest of the world. Since 1990, the Atlantic Ocean has been rising at an annual rate that is 3 to 4 times faster than the global average.

Despite pressure from big business and power companies, a federal appeals court upheld first regulations that will reduce the gases blamed for global warming. This may be the most significant decision on climate change since a 2007 Supreme Court ruling that greenhouse gases could be controlled as air pollutants.
The rules will reduce the emissions of six heat-trapping gases from large industrial facilities, as well as from car exhaust. Industry groups vow to continue the fight.
