Starlink corn was genetically engineered to remain alive while being sprayed with the pesticide Roundup, which kills the weeds but not the GM corn–but this isn’t working as well as it used to, so Dow has created a NEW pesticide, based on the defoliant Agent Orange (NOTE: Subscribers can listen to this provocative interview), which was used during the Vietnam War. Of course the chemical company says this is safe, but farmers aren’t so sure.

Monsanto’s Bt and Roundup insecticides are not only killing weeds– new findings show that they are also killing human kidney cells, even in low doses.

Roundup, designed to be used on GM crops, is also linked to infertility, killing testicular cells in rats within 1 to 48 hours of exposure. Roundup is also decreasing the population of monarch butterflies in North America by killing the milkweed plants that the butterflies rely on for food.

On the Nation of Change website, Anthony Gucciardi reports that "The evidence that Monsanto’s biopesticide and Roundup alike are disrupting both nature and human safety is clear, yet little is being done about it."

GM seeds have changed agriculture, but not necessarily for the better: Farmers who have planted genetically engineered Roundup-ready crops from genetically-modified seeds made by Monsanto are discovering that whole fields of these crops (mostly corn and soy) can literally die overnight. This "Sudden Death Syndrome" is caused by a newly discovered fungus that invades Roundup ready crops.
