The FBI received so many reports of UFO sightings in the 1940s that they destroyed thousands of them, saying they contained "nothing of FBI interest," due to lack of space in their filing cabinets. A group of FBI memos reveal that alien bodies were discovered at the UFO crash in Roswell in 1947. One memo, from special agent Guy Hottel, states that "three so-called flying saucers have been recovered in New Mexico. They were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50 feet in diameter. Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape but only 3 feet tall."
