This week’s Dreamland and Awakening programs once again involve the afterlife. Since my wife Anne died last August, there has been a continuous series of events involving her that suggest that there is an afterlife, and that she not only still exists, but is still conscious of this world and attempting to indicate that it is possible to bridge the gap between worlds.
True to what has been happening, the making of the program seems to have attracted Anne’s attention. She was present at a lunch I had a few hours later with Marla Frees and subscriber Fontaine. I heard her speak to me, and Marla instantly said "you’re channeling Anne."
To a person who has always been concerned about channeling being indistinguishable from imagining, this was a pretty startling moment. It was a sort of triple confirmation: I can channel, Anne was really there, and Marla is a powerful psychic.
Then later that day, I received an email from Mary Ann, one of the people who is on this week’s Dreamland, where she and her friend Victor discuss their own encounters with the dead. Victor, it seems, had encountered Anne sitting in his living room. As I state in the Awakenings episode about this, there were certain details that suggest to me that it might have indeed been Anne that he saw, and not a figment of his imagination.
These most recent events add to a steady stream. The first one happened barely an hour after Anne’s death, and there have been many more. So I do feel that we live on. I don’t know how it works, but apparently it does.
My best guess is that the physical world is really a sort of simulation which we use to dip into the stream of time. Our bodies are so full of survival needs that they literally suck our attention into them, causing us to all but forget our real lives, which are not physical and are not inside of time, but outside looking in. When we are like this, and only then, we can have novel experience. When biologically alive, we are no longer able to view the future and the past clearly. We cannot anticipate what is coming. We cannot remember the past with any accuracy.
So, then, what is it that Anne and others are trying to do? Right now, the biological world on Earth is in a very serious situation. If we had reliable and verifiable contact with the nonphysical part of our species, we might be able to take advantage of their greater vision. It should be remembered, though, that she has made it clear that they do not have perfect vision. In other words, they do not see all, but they see more, and can, I suspect, help us with their guidance.
But how do we do this? What level of verifiability will work? Given that we live in a world that is so little in contact with its other half that most of us don’t even acknowledge that it exists, I’m very unsure about this. As Anne has told me, "most of us call and call, and nobody hears, not even when we’re right beside you."
From our perspective, the other world is so far away that it seems not to exist. Our dead seem to have disappeared. Our attempts to engage with them are met with silence.
From their perspective, as I am beginning to understand it, they are right here, as Anne has said, "closer than your skin" and it’s us who can’t hear them.
This gulf between the two halves of the species can be narrowed, I suspect, by building a very new sort of bridge, and that’s what this week’s Dreamland and the whole Awakening series are about.
It is going to take care, concentration and a deep personal connection with the joy that I sense is at the heart of reality. I have learned how to use my meditation process to extend my awareness somewhat into the other world. I am asking not for guidance, but for partnership. If they already knew how to guide us, I think they would be doing so. That they are not suggests to me that we must meet in the middle of the bridge between the worlds.
Anne is out there trying to do this from her side, as I am from mine. Many others are as well, I know it because I can see them and feel their presences. We need, on both sides, to develop procedures that make meeting on the bridge possible, repeatable and confirmable.
I think we can do this. In fact, I know we can. Why? Because we now know that the other side is really there, at least some of us do. That is a real beginning.

Considering they’re still human, perhaps “dead” isn’t an appropriate label — maybe “corporeally-challenged” would be a more politically-correct term? 😉
But in all seriousness, the role of those that we think of as the dead seems to be more complex than simply being a source of information from the other side: one has to remember that they’re still participating in the human experience — that partnership that Whitley speaks of, albeit perhaps not as directly as many of them would like.
One of the issues of what the human world is currently going through is that spiritual pressure is expected to become much, much more intense before whatever this transition we’re collectively going through is done, and I suspect there are many individuals that wouldn’t be able to handle it properly from this side, despite how dearly they want to be a part of this change.
I get the feeling that many of these individuals have been passing to the other side over the past few years, to work from where they can avoid being overwhelmed by the transition, waiting for their moment to step back in, to once again participate directly in this grand game.

I, too, have struggled with these kinds of experiences, but many times I also get validation, but it doesn’t mean that I cease questioning the reality of them. I do continue to stay ‘open’, and connecting with those ‘over there’, often out of the blue and at odd moments. For a while they were flooding through the door to the point that I had to keep the door closed for a while. I still had a home, family, and a ‘day job’ to keep up with, and it was just too much, plus these experiences were, and are, very emotional for me. They just want to talk to us and let us know that they are here/there and are ok. A few times they have pushed me to speak to their living friends and loved ones and it was great for everyone when the message was delivered, especially when it was backed up with details that I could not make up on my own. I have also done the work to heal some of those on the other side, including other aspects of myself in other lifetimes/realities.
It’s all highly strange, but I have to concede that it must become another ‘new normal’ in order for us to save this planet. Let’s talk strategy…:-)

I think many of us just know when it’s an authentic communication…..the photograph of my Dad crashing to the floor in the next room at the precise moment he popped into my mind – one of many such ‘signs’. Best to go with your gut instincts. If it feels like a communication, it probably is. And at lunch with Whitley and Marla, it was 100% Anne, speaking through Whitley!
Where we go from here…..well, it’s high time that this be taken as a serious field of research. It’s an urgent challenge that we embrace the reality of communication beyond the 5 senses (for reasons that are too many to list, and many of us are already aware of).

I have noticed objects that seem to be at rest suddenly move unexpectedly. Last Sunday evening, I saw Whitley’s post about Fontaine, Marla, Whitley and Anne. Within half a minute of seeing the picture on Whitley’s twitter feed, I heard a loud noise in my kitchen. I went to check it out, but found nothing out of place. This unexpected event peaked my curiosity as to what happened during the encounter with Anne this past Sunday. Furthermore, I checked out this past weeks’ episode early, as subscribers are able to do. To my surprise, I found that the latest Awakenings episode about the meeting with Anne was not properly linked. I notified Whitley and he got it taken care of promptly. Why did this happen?
There have been numerous other synchonicities I have experienced relating to Dreamland/UnknownCountry over the past months. Is there something trying to communicate to us? Possibly, and whatever it/they are doing seems to be getting our attentions. I believe Whitley is right about knowing the other side existing is a key to creating the bridge between this world and a greater expansion of our consciousness.
